The Experience
Opened in 1975 and since renovated, Caesars Superdome is the world’s largest fixed-dome stadium — fully enclosed, climate-controlled, and central to the identity of New Orleans. Eight Super Bowls, six NCAA Final Fours, and multiple national championships. One of the great event venues in the United States.
The Stadium
- The world’s largest fixed-dome stadium — fully enclosed and climate-controlled year-round, so New Orleans heat and humidity are irrelevant inside
- Three main seating tiers: Plaza (100 level), Club/Loge (200/300 level), and Terrace (500/600 level), with suite levels at 300/400
- A 2021 renovation upgraded seating, concourses, and amenities throughout, with a modern DAS network for wireless connectivity
- Renamed Caesars Superdome in 2021 following a Caesars Entertainment naming-rights deal
- Four suite levels — Field Level, 300 Level, 400 Level, and Saints Suite Level — each with a food and beverage package, dedicated attendant, and parking
Arrive Ready
- 90 minutes early for Saints games — the CBD location and enclosed format make the pre-game experience inside the dome part of the event
- Fully enclosed and climate-controlled — no weather planning needed regardless of season; New Orleans summer heat is a non-factor once inside
- Walkable from the French Quarter and many CBD hotels — one of the most pedestrian-accessible NFL venues in the country
- Rideshare and taxi readily available from the French Quarter — roughly a 10-minute ride if you’re not walking
- Premium entrance at Gate C for suite holders; Gate S for the Saints Suite Level
Events & Schedule
Home to the Saints, host of eight Super Bowls, and one of the busiest large-venue event calendars in the South. The dome format makes it ideal for concerts, conventions, and championship events year-round.
New Orleans Saints
- A full NFL home schedule from September through January
- One of the league’s most passionate home crowds — a sold-out Saints Sunday is among the loudest in the NFL
- The enclosed dome amplifies crowd noise significantly — a genuine home-field advantage
- The Saints Suite Level is the most exclusive premium tier, accessed via Gate S with four reserved parking spots per suite
Championship History
- 8 Super Bowls hosted — more than any other venue in NFL history
- 6 NCAA Men’s Final Four basketball tournaments
- College Football Playoff national championships plus multiple BCS title games
- Major concerts, trade shows, and conventions year-round — the dome’s versatility and scale make it one of the most-used large venues in the country
Loudest Stadium in the NFL
The fixed dome traps and amplifies crowd noise in a way no open-air or retractable-roof stadium can match. On big Saints nights, the Superdome is one of the loudest sporting environments in American sports — part of what makes attending a Saints game different from most NFL experiences.
Beyond the Saints
- Major touring concerts — the dome configuration suits large productions
- College football — the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day, plus CFP events
- NCAA tournaments — basketball and other college sports
- Conventions and trade shows — the scale is unmatched in the region
The City
One of America’s most distinctive cities — the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, incredible food, live music on every corner, and a cultural identity unlike anywhere else in the country. A Saints game or major event at the Superdome deserves at least two full days in New Orleans around it.

The closest hotel cluster to the Superdome — many properties within a 5–10 min walk. The Hyatt Regency is directly adjacent to the stadium. Best pure logistics for the event itself.

New Orleans fills extremely fast for Saints playoff games, the Sugar Bowl, and any championship event at the Superdome — book as early as possible. The Hyatt Regency’s adjacency to the stadium makes it the single most practical option for groups who want zero logistics on event night.
Frenchmen Street in the Marigny is where locals go for live jazz — a 20-minute walk from the French Quarter and one of the great live-music experiences in America. Commander’s Palace in the Garden District is the standard-setting New Orleans fine-dining institution — book ahead. The French Market, Café Du Monde, and Bourbon Street are the classic corridor and worth experiencing for any first-time visitor. Two full days is the minimum to do New Orleans properly alongside a Superdome event.
Common Questions
First-time visitor answers, plainly stated.
Completely. The fixed dome is fully enclosed and climate-controlled year-round — New Orleans’s 95°F+ summer heat and humidity are irrelevant inside. It’s one of only a handful of NFL venues where weather is never a planning factor for any event at any time of year. The only time outdoor heat matters is during entry queuing before gates open.
The Club 200/300 Level Sideline is the strongest all-round recommendation — wide rows, outstanding sightlines, and some of the best views in the building. For a tighter budget, the Terrace Premium Sideline sections (511–521, 541–551) are the best upper-level value — entrances at rows 7 and 25 keep even the higher rows accessible without a long climb.
Yes — about 15 minutes on foot from the heart of the French Quarter along Poydras Street. CBD hotels are even closer, many within a 5–10 minute walk, and the Hyatt Regency is directly adjacent to the stadium. Walking is the recommended option for most groups staying in the French Quarter or CBD.
Four tiers: Field Level is closest to the playing surface. The 300 Level suits smaller groups (15–26 seats) with two parking spots. The 400 Level has the largest suites (22–45 seats) with four parking spots. The Saints Suite Level is the most exclusive — 22–40 seats with a dedicated Gate S entrance and four parking spots. All include a food and beverage package, in-suite attendant, and premium parking. The 300/400 level has 64 suites, making it the most consistently bookable tier.
Yes — New Orleans is one of America’s most distinctive cities and deserves more than a single event visit. Two full days minimum to experience the French Quarter, Frenchmen Street jazz, the Garden District, and the food scene. Commander’s Palace, Café Du Monde, the St. Charles Avenue streetcar, and an evening on Frenchmen Street are the essentials. New Orleans rewards taking your time.
