At a Glance
The essentials before you book anything — capacity, premium tiers, getting there, and where to stay for a night at Austin’s largest indoor venue.
The Experience
Opened in 2022 on the UT Austin campus, Moody Center is the city’s largest indoor venue — wrapped in floor-to-ceiling glass curtainwalls that open onto 360-degree city views, including the State Capitol.
The Arena
- A glass curtainwall wraps the entire upper concourse — 360-degree Austin skyline views, including the State Capitol
- A compact 15,000-seat bowl designed for acoustic intimacy, so it feels smaller than the capacity suggests
- Porch Suites push 10 feet into the bowl, oriented directly at the stage — the most connected premium experience in the building
- The Germania Club (sections 105–109) and Dell Technologies Club (106–108) sit within the 100-level tier with lounge access included
- A clear bag policy is enforced — verify event-specific guidelines before arriving
- Mobile ticketing is standard — load tickets before leaving your hotel
Arrive Ready
- 60 minutes early for major concerts — doors open earlier for general-admission floor shows
- The campus location means limited parking, so rideshare is the recommended option
- CapMetro buses serve the UT campus area — check route timing before the show
- Downtown Austin hotels are ~15–20 min by rideshare — manageable, but plan for post-show demand
- Austin rideshare demand spikes significantly after large shows — plan your exit strategy before arriving

Hotels & Neighborhoods
Moody Center sits on the UT Austin campus — four neighborhood zones within easy reach, each with a distinct Austin character.
Downtown Austin
Austin’s hotel and entertainment core, 10–15 min by rideshare. The Sixth Street and Rainey Street corridors are your post-show options. Our most common placement zone.
South Congress
SoCo’s independent shops, restaurants, and boutique hotels give the most authentic Austin experience, 15–20 min from the arena with strong hotel selection.
West Campus / Hyde Park
Immediately adjacent to UT — walkable for some shows. A smaller boutique hotel selection, but the shortest travel time of any zone.
The Domain (North)
Luxury hotels, upscale dining, and a calm atmosphere away from downtown crowds. The best option when central Austin is fully booked — a longer drive, but easier availability at peak times.
Luxury
- Four Seasons Austin — prime downtown lakefront
- Proper Austin — boutique luxury, downtown
- Hotel Viata — The Domain, full-service
- Austin Marriott Downtown — central and well-appointed
4-Star
- JW Marriott Austin — downtown, strong amenity set
- Fairmont Austin — the largest hotel in the city
- The Westin Austin at The Domain — north Austin convenience
- Hyatt Regency Austin — lakefront, walkable downtown
Upper-Midrange
- Boutique SoCo properties — most character
- West Campus options — closest to the arena
- Domain-area select service — best for early departures
- Matched to date, inventory, and group size
Austin is our home market — we know every property personally. Final selections depend on date-specific availability.
The Drag (Guadalupe St) runs along the western edge of campus — the most practical pre-show dining strip. Rainey Street is Austin’s best cocktail-bar corridor, 15 min by rideshare and perfect for post-show. East Austin (East 6th St) is the city’s most exciting dining neighborhood right now, and Q2 Stadium (Austin FC) is an easy add for sports fans rounding out a trip.

First-time visitor answers, plainly stated.
Roughly 10–15 minutes by rideshare under normal conditions. Post-show rideshare demand can extend this significantly — plan your pickup location before you arrive, not at the end of the show.
Limited campus parking is available but fills extremely fast. Pre-purchase any available permits online well in advance. For most guests and groups, rideshare is the practical option — easier logistics, and it avoids post-show garage gridlock.
Porch Suites are pushed 10 feet into the bowl and oriented directly at the stage rather than sitting back from it. They feel like being on the floor with suite amenities — full catering, dedicated service, and the acoustic proximity of a floor position without the floor crowd.
Yes — Austin is our home market. We can build a full package around any show at Moody Center, including tickets, premium upgrades, hotel placement, and private transport. Tell us the show and we’ll handle the rest.
