PGA in San Francisco

In 2020, the PGA Championship makes its way to San Francisco for the first time in its history. This will mark the second time the PGA Championship has been played on a municipal course. However, don’t be fooled by the course’s accessibility. It takes a lot to challenge the world’s best golfers and Harding Park stands the test of the best.

ABOUT THE COURSE

SAN FRANCISCO: EXPERIENCE THE GOLDEN CITY

In the free time you have around the tournament and practice days, you’ll definitely want to get out and explore California’s Golden City. Whether you want to take in true San Fran tourist sights or custom-curated experiences in the city, you won’t want to miss out on discovering new adventures while you’re there.

  • First and foremost, we know everyone’s #1 is the Golden Gate Bridge, so we’ll spare recommending that one (although it’s definitely a must-see), and get straight into the rest of the good stuff. When in San Fran, you should definitely hop on a cable car! Not your thing? Just snap a few photos as they roll by through downtown. After all, it is the last manually operated system in the world.

  • Explore one of the United States’s oldest and most established Chinatowns. Full of bakeries, cocktail lounges and karaoke bars, strolling through Chinatown is a beautiful sight and experience. Also, tourist tip: If you’re looking for not-too-pricey souvenirs to bring back home, this is the place to find them! (For those who prefer a city vibe, make the short trek into Union Square for lunch via walking or cable car!)

  • Exploring San Francisco doesn’t mean you have to take a break from golf entirely… Take a swing at Eagle Club Indoor Golf, located downtown! Eagle Club is San Fran’s only indoor driving range and they don’t disappoint. They have top-of-the-line Performance Simulation solutions to help you effectively improve your game. 2-6 players is just $25 for the first 30 minutes, so why not give it a shot?

  • As your day of fun in San Francisco comes to a close, head over to Fisherman’s Wharf for a night of fun. San Francisco’s most famous waterfront community offers some of the city’s best dining and entertainment, from arcade games to magic shows. We recommend Pier 39 for beautiful waterfront views, adorable sea lions and endless entertainment. P.S. Order the Whole Dungeness Crab at Fog Harbor Fish House and you can’t go wrong.

Picture Yourself in San Francisco…

Exploring the town and watching the best of the best in golf at the one and only PGA Championship. It’s a dream event for golf fans and you could be there in person.
